More than 10,000 children have died since the Syrian crisis began in 2011, including a 3-year-old Kurdish refugee named Alan Kurdi. The shocking image of Alan’s tiny body, washed up on a Turkish beach, crystallized  - and humanized - the depth of this ongoing tragedy.

According to the United Nations, 5.6 million refugee and displaced children are in urgent need of food, water, shelter and education. Although Alan cannot be brought back to life, every act of kindness makes a difference.

Grania’s Tears is currently developing a partnership with UNICEF to channel a generous portion of the book’s profits toward humanitarian aid for all refugee children in the region.
